Buying a home in the internet "Should" be easier than ever. Instead of driving from one open house to the next, you can leisurely look at homes while having your morning coffee.
With so many websites offering access to listings, it’s easy to get confused. You find a home that looks perfect while standing in line at the Post Office. You get back home and can’t remember which website it was on. You don’t see the same house anywhere.
A few days later you find one that looks perfect at an incredible price. You call the “featured” agent next to the listing. That agent has never heard of the house. They’re nice enough to look the address up in the MLS. It isn’t currently listed for sale. The agent checks the history and learns it sold as a short sale three years ago.   ...

Winter is in full swing and with winter comes harsh weather that can be a burden for more than just your skin.
Your home takes the brunt of the elements, so as a homeowner you want to be sure you are doing everything you can to be prepared and maintain your home.
We have compiled a list of things you can be doing this winter to save money & protect your home in the process!
1. Have your furnace professionally cleaned and serviced. Be sure you are replacing your filters monthly as well! In the winter the air in your home is more stagnant that in the spring and summer months so this step is especially important. Some advanced filters can even filter out allergens, mold spores & bacteria from the air -- hello flu season!
2. Add Insulation in your attic. Is your home struggling to maintain heat? Now is an ideal time to be sure your attic has at least 12 inches of insulation. Save about $600/year by boosting the amount of attic insulation  ...

There is a common misconception out there about real estate offices, and you’ve probably fallen for it. The first thing you learn about a local real estate office is where it’s located. How else would you know where to drive?
Many people like to believe that the location of an office determines which area they serve. Surely they will only know about that specific neighborhood or area of a town if they work from there, right? Wrong.
Let’s back up a bit, real estate agents are essentially their own boss. They can work in any office they choose, in any town. As long as they can pop in and write up a contract, print off a list of homes to show, or fill up their balloons for an open house, they will be happy with their office’s location. Being a real estate agent is a hands-on, gone-all-day, field work kind of job.
